"The Jazz Man shares his best through song & vibes. He is hip, expressive and a man searching for like-minded souls.

Linda Darnece Jones, M.S.

I paint and write to express my special thoughts, and significant experiences.  Each piece is like an exclamation mark that stands out and shouts to inspire and ignite others.  I am on a journey of self-expression, self actualization and soulful celebration.  Let these works touch your soul.

THE BEGINNING AND THE PRESENT

The Artist

The Storyteller

The Artist

  • In 2002 I began painting while recovering from thyroid cancer.  I was invited by Artist, Solomon Thurman, to take a class offered by the St. Louis Art Museum.  The rest is history and I have been painting, illustrating books, and sharing my creations.   At LDJ Creations, we know the "art of healing" is powerful.  With each stroke, swirl or addition of glitter, are moments that highlight life's challenges, mountain tops and celebrations.

  • I use bright and bold  colors, mostly acrylics and some water colors to define my subjects.  Sometimes I  embellish them with fabrics, beads, bells and jewels.

  • So peek into my world, and if you find something that speaks to you let us know at LDJ Creations.  We like to connect with the mind, body and soul!

The Poet

The Storyteller

The Artist

  • I am a native St. Louisan, and in High School I began sharing and expressing myself in prose and poetry.  Over the years I have completed over 600 poems, 4 Chap Books, 2 Children Books and a historical memoir titled, "Dream Benders."

  • My maternal Grandmother, Rena Lee, often recited poems by Paul Lawrence Dunbar. As she emphasized the dialect, the words deeply resonated in my soul.  So began my journey and love of poetry.

  • A few years ago one of my poems was accepted and used to highlight the St. Louis Congo Run.

  • Some of my most popular poems are: Church Women,  Dat'll  Do, All Within 100 Years and Mama's Powder Puff Was Ruff & Tough!

The Storyteller

  • There are so many stories to tell and moments to highlight.  Family members, friends, neighbors, church folk, classmates, and everyday people have added so much to my life.  Now I am recycling their lessons and tales and folding them into historical documents and legacies.

  • When and where possible I  infuse the verbal and visual dynamics so all when enjoy the ride.

  • Finally, I was educated at Cornell University and have a Master of Science in Counseling and Art Therapy from the University of Bridgeport, in Connecticut.   Over the years I've been  a  college counselor, youth program director and non-profit administrator.
